About me

I am a curious person with a strong interest for innovation. I graduated in 2003 with a Master of Science degree in Medical Biology at VU university, Amsterdam. After graduating, I became a doctoral student at VU university and was awarded a PhD in biochemistry in 2008. Overall, I have 15 years of experience in biotechnological research. This enabled me to specialize in research & project management and the aquisition of research funds. Personal interests include running, race cycling and history.

As project manager at Groningen University, I oversaw ROBOX an EU-funded project with a budget of 11M€ and 17 partners from nine different European countries, delivering green chemistry fit for industrial implementation. Check out the video below to learn more about the ROBOX project.
